New York State Budget Deal Reached In Albany

New York State lawmakers reportedly have a budget deal in place that includes a partial suspension of the state's gas tax. According to Spectrum News, the budget also includes a boost in funding to pre-k programs over the next three years and eligibility expansion for childcare.

The budget would make major investments in education, infrastructure and public safety, along with the suspension of the gas tax between June 1st and December 31st. In addition, restaurants will be able to sell alcohol for take-out and delivery, so long as there is food along with it.

The budget was supposed to be complete by April 1st but negotiations on key issues is delaying it.
