It's National Work Zone Awareness Week and State Police will be doing their part to keep construction crews safe while they're on the job.
As part of the "Operation Hardhat" safety campaign they'll be keeping a close eye out for people who drive dangerously in work zones. During last year's crackdowns, there were a record 2,336 tickets handed out. Violators face penalties ranging from heavy fines to points on their driver's license.
