New York City's Mayor is backing off his proposed ban on chocolate milk in public schools. Eric Adams, who follows a mostly vegan diet, wants chocolate milk off the lunch menu, but he's getting nowhere with that.

There's been much lobbying by dairy farmers and bipartisan pushback from lawmakers, including North Country rep. Elise Stefanik (R), who say flavored milk helps kids get essential nutrients and vitamins.

Instead, the Mayor says he'll urge Congress to pass a law allowing vegetarian alternatives in certain public schools.
