An activist and former state Senate candidate from Greene County is expected to take legal action Monday, challenging the process used to create new state Assembly districts.
The New York Daily News reports Gary Greenberg is going to file a lawsuit in state Supreme Court in Steuben County. Greenberg believes that the districts are unconstitutional and brand new ones should be created by an independent party instead of lawmakers. Last week, the state Court of Appeals ruled both the state Senate and Congressional districts produced by Democrats in the Legislature were unfair to Republicans and need to be redrawn.
