Lawmakers have approved a package of bills that are aimed at toughening the state's gun laws.

One measure passed Thursday raises the minimum age to buy a semi-automatic rifle from 18 to 21-years-old. Also, threatening mass harm is now a crime and microstamping is required for new guns. The Senate and Assembly also took action to protect abortion access should the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade. All of this legislation is now on its way to Governor Hochul's desk for her to sign.
