A Democrat who was seeking the party's nomination in the 19th Congressional District race has dropped out of the contest.

On Monday, Osun Zotique announced they were ending their campaign, saying they do not have the resources to compete against Republican Mark Molinaro in the November election. Zotique says they're proud to have been the first transgender non-binary individual to run for federal office. The 19th District seat has been open for weeks after Antonio Delgado resigned to become lieutenant governor. Attorney Josh Riley and businesswoman Jamie Cheney are now going to go head-to-head for the Democratic nomination in the August 23rd primary.
