A fire department in Schenectady County has received a much-needed financial boost.
On Tuesday, Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara presented members of Rotterdam Fire District Number Two with a check for $1 million. Santabarbara was able to secure the money for the department which has dozens of volunteer firefighters who are called on to respond to hundreds of emergencies each year. The funds will be used for things including building a new storage garage and reconstruction of an access road and parking lot.
