Victim of Sword Attack in Albany Opened Fire at Columbia HS in 2004

The victim of a sword attack in Albany has been identified as the man who opened fire at Columbia High School back in 2004.

Jon Romano was at the Capital Connections Drop-In Center on Sheridan Avenue Monday when he was allegedly assaulted by 42-year-old Randell Mason. The 34-year-old Romano was rushed to Albany Med where he underwent surgery and was last listed in critical condition. Romano spent years in prison for firing a shotgun towards students and teachers at Columbia. As for Mason, he was arraigned Tuesday and is in the Albany County Jail without bail.
