A man is going to be spending more than eight years in prison after being sentenced for his role in a hammer attack.

The Rensselaer County District Attorney's Office says 39-year-old Duncan Maclean, formerly of Pittstown, assaulted the victim in late 2017. Maclean pleaded guilty to a felony charge and will be on post-release supervision when he's released from custody. In a statement, Sheriff Patrick Russo thanked the DA's office and his agency's investigators for bringing this case to a successful conclusion.
