Gov. Hochul Defeats Rep. Lee Zeldin to Remain in Office For Four More Years

Governor Kathy Hochul is going to be leading New York for the next four years after defeating her Republican challenger, Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin.

With the victory, Hochul has made history by becoming the first woman to ever be elected governor of the Empire State. Hochul was Lieutenant Governor last year when she took office after the resignation of ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo. In other statewide contests, both Attorney General Letitia James and State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli earned re-election as did Senator Chuck Schumer.
