Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is reminding New Yorkers that assistance is available to help them stay warm during the winter.

The New York Democrat says the state has received over $400-million in federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program funds. In Albany on Monday, the senator said LIHEAP provides a lifeline to thousands of low-income families because many of them can't afford to pay high heating bills. More information on this program can be found at otda.ny.gov/programs.
