An Albany County man charged in connection with violent protests at the United States Capitol is expected to appear in front of a judge Tuesday.

Prosecutors say that 37-year-old Troy Weeks of Renssealerville took an officer's can of pepper spray and touched the inside of a police riot shield on January 6th, 2021. Weeks is at least the seventh Capital Region resident to be arrested following the protests. Thousands of people stormed the Capitol building in an attempt to stop Congress from certifying President Biden's victory over ex-President Donald Trump.
