A news conference is being held Thursday regarding a homicide in Rensselaer County that happened nearly three decades ago.

The District Attorney's Office and police say new information will be released about the murder of 81-year-old Wilomeana "Violet" Filkins, who was found dead in her apartment back in August 1994. An autopsy revealed that Filkins died after suffering several blows to her head and it is believed she was likely killed during a robbery. The news conference is set to take place at ten a-m at East Greenbush Town Hall.
