Fresh Ideation Food Group LLC is recalling over 400 ready-to-eat food products because they may be contaminated with Listeria. The Food and Drug Administration said that the recall includes sandwiches, salads, snacks, yogurt, wraps, and other related products.
The company initiated the recall after environmental samples tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.
The products were distributed in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. They were sold in retail locations, vending machines, and by transportation providers.
All of the recalled products can be identified by the Fresh Creative Cuisine label on the bottom of the package with the Fresh Creative Cuisine name. They have a fresh-through or sell-through date from January 31, 2023, through February 6, 2023.
There have been no reports of illness due to the potential bacterial contamination. Symptoms of a Listeria infection include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. It can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
