New information has been released regarding an officer-involved shooting in Troy involving Michael Broadie, 39, from Albany. The incident began just before midnight on Monday (December 2) when police responded to reports of a man with a handgun near Jacob Street and Tenth Street. Broadie fled to River Street, where he fired a shot at officers. His gun malfunctioned, preventing further shots.

Four officers, Sergeant Matthew Beaudoin and officers Nico Carello, Jared Faden, and Angelo Migliore, returned fire, discharging a total of 18 rounds. Broadie was hit in the torso, leg, and lip and is currently in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. No other individuals were harmed during the incident.

Broadie faces four counts of first-degree attempted murder of a police officer and possession of ecstasy pills. He was arraigned on Tuesday (December 3) by a Rensselaer County Court Judge. According to NEWS10 ABC, Broadie was out on bail for a prior arrest in September for allegedly possessing three illegal handguns.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are seeking information or surveillance footage from residents in the area. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact detectives at (518) 270-4421.
