Voting begins today (January 13) for Albany County's "Name a Snowplow" contest. The Albany County Legislature, along with the County Executive’s Office and Department of Public Works, has narrowed down 280 submissions to 15 finalists. Some of the creative names include Snow Nipper, Plowasaurus, EmpirePlowza, Blizzard of Oz, and Taylor Drift.
Residents can cast their votes online at albanycountyny.gov. The seven names with the most votes by January 24 will be displayed on the county's snowplows, promoting safe winter driving.
This initiative not only engages the community but also adds a touch of humor to the winter season. The winning names will be featured on the snowplows for the second half of the winter, bringing a bit of personality to the county's fleet.
