Albany residents have the opportunity to receive free cancer screenings this February, thanks to the Heart for Hope campaign. In honor of American Heart Month, the campaign is offering screenings and primary care services at Albany Medical Center. Screenings are available for a range of cancers, including breast, prostate, skin, and cervical.

The Heart for Hope campaign, a collaboration between the Warren and Denyse Mackey Foundation, Albany Med, MVP Healthcare, and the American Cancer Society, aims to increase awareness and participation in cancer screenings. According to CBS 6 Albany, anyone can participate, regardless of their insurance status.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 518-262-HOPE, with a guarantee of an appointment within three days. Participants who complete the recommended screenings are eligible for a $50 gift card from the Foundation. The campaign honors Warren Mackey, known as the "unofficial mayor" of Albany, who died at 54 after battling heart disease.
