Investigation Ongoing in Fatal Colonie Car Crash

Colonie police are actively investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Monday (February 24) on Wolf Road near Sand Creek Road. According to authorities, the accident happened around 1:45 p.m. when a vehicle traveling north crossed into the southbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with another car.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the southbound vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The names of the drivers have not been released as police are still notifying the families of those involved.

As reported by Times Union, the crash led to the closure of Wolf Road for approximately two hours while police conducted their investigation. The road has since been reopened.

Colonie Police Chief James Gerace stated that the investigation is ongoing, and they are seeking any witnesses who may have seen the crash to come forward. News10 also reported that the Colonie Village Fire Department assisted at the scene.
