Vice President JD Vance trolled a New York Times opinion piece written by a member of former President Joe Biden's administration pitching a plan to fix the United States immigration system while addressing a crowd in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday (July 16), the New York Post reports.

Vance read the headline, 'I Was One of Biden's Border advisers. Here's How to Fix Our Immigration System,' which was met with laughter from the audience.

“What would he know about fixing our immigration system? It was the Biden administration that broke our immigration system,” Vance said with a grin. “So we’ve been having a little fun around the office.”

Vance then presented a spoof headline to continue trolling the article.

“The Department of Homeland Security their take on this was ‘I was Humpty Dumpty. Here’s how to sit on a wall,’” he quipped.

President Donald Trump made immigration enforcement an emphasis of his 2024 campaign. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents reported more than 2,200 people were arrested on June 3, marking the most immigrant arrests in a single day in its history and an estimated total of 30,000 immigrants were arrested last month.

Trump has, however, been met with nationwide protests after federal agents raided workplaces during ICE raids.
