San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is reportedly expected to miss 2-5 weeks due to a turf toe variant and an issue with his non-throwing shoulder, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said during an appearance on Good Morning Football Thursday (September 11).

"From @GMFB: #Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (wrist) is off the injury report, while #49ers QB Brock Purdy is out 2-5 weeks with a turf toe variant, sources say," Rapoport wrote on his X account, along with the clip of his Good Morning Football appearance. "With this timeline for #49ers QB Brock Purdy, he's likely to miss games against the #Saints and #AZCardinals, at least. Then, his availability will be determined by how his rehab goes."

Purdy had previously said he was "not sure, has to see how it heals and how the week goes on it" after throwing for 277 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions on 26 of 35 passing, while also recording 17 yards on five rushing attempts, during his team's 17-13 win against the NFC West Division rival Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 via NFL.com. San Francisco has veteran Mac Jones listed as the backup.

Jones, who was a first-round pick for the New England Patriots in 2021, appeared in 10 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in place of Trevor Lawrence last season. The Niners are already without All-Pro tight end George Kittle, who was placed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury suffered in the team's Week 1, which will force him to miss at least four games in adherence with NFL rules.
