NYS Passes Anti-Gun Legislation

State lawmakers have passed a package of gun control bills. Among them, one that would ban bump stocks in New York state. Another extends the waiting period for those who didn't pass an initial background check, and the third is the so-called "Red Flag" bill, which authorizes people like teachers, police officers, or a family member to petition a court to have an individual's guns taken away if it's decided he or she is mentally ill. Linda Schulman's son, Scott, was one of the victims of the Parkland shooting in Florida. She says had there been a "red flag" law in Florida at the time, the shooting never would have happened, because some people at the school knew that gunman Nikolas Cruz was a time bomb.

Gov. Cuomo says the state has to eliminate bump stocks. Cuomo says in his opinion bump stocks make no legitimate sense. He says "no legitimate sports person" will say "oh yes... I use bump stocks".
