Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek announced a few months ago that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. In a video that he released to fans, the 78-year-old vowed to fight the cancer.
Now, almost 2 months after revealing his diagnosis, he told People magazine that he is near remission, saying that some of the tumors have shrunk by 50%.
About 56,000 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a year, and about 45,000 will die from it. The five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is only about 9 percent.
He is still continuing his chemotherapy treatments.
