Happy Hour: Firefighters Honored for Saving Man in 787 Crash

The firefighters who helped save the man trapped under a flipped tractor trailer after a crash on 787 last week were honored by the Troy City Council.

The council thanked those who helped cut Jelani Reyes-Craig out of his car after it was crushed during the crash. Firefighters say only six inches separated Reyes-Craig from life and death. Troy Fire Chief Eric McMahon said "It was by far the absolute most dramatic scene that I've seen in my thirty years.”

A dozen firefighters and the chief were recognized with certificates for their heroic actions.

A nine year old in Minnesota was running a 5k. He thought it was taking him longer than expected. And he was right; he had taken a wrong turn and ended up racing in and winning the 10k. At the finish line, those that were doing the 5k stopped and those doing the 10k continued on for another 3.1 miles. Well a woman at the finish line, kept telling him to go straight. He did and ended up in the 10k portion. He finished in 48 minutes, which is super fast. He says he may have run a little faster because he was afraid his mom would worry when she didn't see him at the 5k finish line.

Finally, you may have heard about this woman. She's 52 and due to a string of bad luck is homeless. She was recently captured on video singing opera in the subway.

A Grammy nominated music producer heard it and has offered her a recording contract. Others have set up Gofundme's for her as well.

She went from pushing a shopping cart with all of her belongings in the subway to $100,000 dollars and a recording contract.
