Best-selling author of The Five People You Meet In Heaven and Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom is coming to Sage on November 20th to speak about his new book Finding Chika: A Little Girl, an Earthquake, and the Making of a Family.
Chika was born in Haiti in 2010 where she spent her infancy in poverty, losing her mother during the birth of her brother. Chika was brought to The Have Faith Haiti Orphanage that Albom operates in Port Au Prince.
When Chika was five, she was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, a rare brain tumor. Albom and his wife took Chika into their home, and sought out treatment for her in the U.S. Hear about her story here.
