If You See an Orange Dot on Your iPhone, Someone Might be Listening

Apple Fans Await iPhone 7

Those who’ve downloaded iOS 14 onto their iPhones might’ve noticed those mysterious orange and green dots popping onto their screens. For those who don’t know, here’s what they mean:

  • The orange dot appears whenever “an app uses the microphone (without the camera).”
  • The green dot appears whenever “an app uses the camera (including when the camera and mic are being used together).”

In addition, there should be a message that pops up at the top of your Control Center that should let you know “when an app has recently used either.”
