Dave Allen, host of Syracuse's Morning News, will be presented with the Blood Services Award at the Real Heroes Celebration on December 4, 2024. The “Real Heroes” event celebrates American Red Cross mission and spirit of humanitarianism by honoring individuals in Central and Northern New York who have shown courage, dedication, and selfless character by their acts of heroism or volunteerism to assist those in need within their communities.
According to the Red Cross, "Dave Allen has consistently promoted and encourage blood donations in Central and Northern New York by providing the Red Cross with access to his radio audience and by posting updates on his social media platforms. Blood drives typically experience a surge in donor appointments after his promotions. Dave is also a long-time blood donor himself."
