Schenectady County will be hosting a free electronics recycling event on Saturday, April 29, at SUNY Schenectady from 10am-2pm.Registration is required and residents of Schenectady looking to attend can register online or by calling (518) 388-4775.
Accepted items will include:
- Batteries
- Cables/IT accessories
- Cameras
- CDs and DVDs
- Computers and computer accessories
- Copiers
- Gaming devices
- Light bulbs including fluorescent
- Laptops
- Monitors
- MP3 Players
- Networking gear
- Phone systems/Cell phones
- Power supplies
- Printers/plotters
- Printer ink, toner, cartridges
- Routers & switches
- Stereo equipment
- External hard drives, SD/memory cards, etc.
- Tablets
- Televisions
- Video and audio equipment
Items not accepted include:
- Anything containing Mercury (thermostats, switches, medical devices, thermometers)
- Smoke or carbon monoxide detectors
- Household hazardous waste/liquids
- Propane tanks
- Radioactive materials
- Small appliances (toasters, coffee makers, irons, etc.)
Items will be cleaned, sorted and reused if possible.
