The concept that children have mental health needs is more understood than even a decade ago, yet mental health resources are still lacking for parents and educators. In this episode of Upstate Issues, Glenn Liebman, CEO of the Mental Health Association in New York State (MHANYS) talks about the School Mental Health Resource and Training Center MHANYS has developed and how it can be accessed. Liebman explains how age-appropriate lesson plans and conversation starters have been created and talks about the added strain that the pandemic has been placing on all of us.
